Richardson Racing can today confirm that it has re-signed rising star Will Martin to spearhead its assault on the 2021 Porsche Carrera Cup GB.
The Corby-based team moved into the fastest one-make series in the UK for the first time last year, with the Porsche programme being an expansion of racing activities that already included entries in the Ginetta Junior Championship, Ginetta GT5 Challenge and British F4.
Despite being up against teams with years of experience running the 485hp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, the first year in the series would prove to be an undoubted success, with Sussex-based Will emerging as one of the stars of the season.
Taking a huge step up from the Ginetta Junior Championship, Will would make huge strides forwards across the course of the campaign and secured a maiden win in the series with a fine drive to victory at Thruxton.
Five further podium finishes enabled him to end the year in fifth overall in the championship standings, whilst four rookie class wins saw him finish as second best of the series newcomers.
On the back of his impressive rookie campaign, Will now returns for a second year in the series with Richardson Racing, with the Sussex-based racer looking to build on the knowledge he gained in 2020 to fight for regular race wins, and launch a bid for the championship title.
Further news on Richardson Racing’s Carrera Cup GB programme will be announced in due course, with the season kicking off at Snetterton in June.

“It certainly won’t be easy as there are some high calibre drivers joining the grid and I feel the level of competition is going to be greater than last year, but I’m ready for the challenge and can’t wait for the start of the season to come around.”
